Build Your Career Around What Actually Matters

We're not chasing quotas or pushing products nobody needs. Our team focuses on helping Australian families make thoughtful decisions about their money—and we're looking for people who find that work meaningful.

You don't need a polished finance background. What matters is curiosity about how people actually live their financial lives, patience to understand different circumstances, and genuine interest in making useful recommendations.

What Working Here Actually Looks Like

Most days you'll spend time talking with clients—understanding where they're at financially, what keeps them up at night, and what they're working toward. Sometimes that's retirement planning. Other times it's just helping someone figure out a reasonable monthly budget.

We work in small teams because financial planning isn't something you should do alone. You'll collaborate with colleagues who've seen different client situations, learn from their approaches, and share what you're discovering.

And yeah, there's paperwork. Compliance matters when you're handling people's savings. But we've streamlined processes so you can focus more on conversations and less on administrative tasks.

The Type of Work That Fits Different Backgrounds

We've hired former teachers who understand how to explain complex concepts simply. We've brought on people from customer service roles who know how to listen without rushing to solutions.

One of our advisors used to work in hospitality management—turns out those skills in reading people and managing expectations translate surprisingly well to financial planning.

What they all share is an ability to connect with different personalities and circumstances without judgment. Because clients come to us at various stages—some are doing well and want optimization, others are struggling and need practical strategies to get stable.

Meet Some of the People You'd Work With

Our team brings different perspectives to client work. Here's what a couple of them have to say about their experience at morilantheq.

Callum Branford, Senior Financial Advisor

Callum Branford

Senior Financial Advisor

I joined morilantheq in early 2023 after working in banking for six years. What drew me here was the client-first approach—we're not measured on how many products we sell, but on whether clients actually understand their options and feel confident in their decisions. I spend most of my time with families preparing for major life transitions, and it's rewarding when they follow up months later to share how things worked out.

Finnian Ashworth, Associate Planning Specialist

Finnian Ashworth

Associate Planning Specialist

Before morilantheq, I was in project coordination for a construction firm. Completely different industry, but the skills transferred more than I expected—listening to stakeholders, managing timelines, breaking down complicated processes. I've learned the financial planning side through mentorship and hands-on client work. The team's been patient with my questions, and I appreciate that learning is built into how we operate rather than being an afterthought.

How We Operate (And Why It Matters)

Client Conversations Over Sales Targets

We don't have monthly quotas for specific products or pressure to upsell services. Your success is measured by client understanding and satisfaction—whether they feel informed enough to make decisions that align with their circumstances.

Continuous Learning Built In

Financial regulations change. Client needs evolve. We allocate time each month for team learning sessions where we discuss new approaches, review complex cases, and share what's working. You're expected to grow your knowledge base, and we provide resources to support that.

Realistic Expectations About the Work

Some weeks are heavy with client meetings. Other weeks focus on research and planning. We try to maintain reasonable workloads because burned-out advisors don't serve clients well. When busy periods hit, we adjust schedules and support each other through the workload.

What Happens After You Reach Out

If you're interested in any position or just want to learn more about working with us, send a note through our contact page. We'll schedule a casual conversation—no formal interview pressure—where we can discuss what you're looking for and whether morilantheq might be a good fit.

From there, if both sides are interested, you'd meet a couple team members to get a sense of daily work and company culture. We usually make decisions within two to three weeks because we know job searching is stressful and extended waiting doesn't help anyone.
